… then I would run like heck to Dumbo, and Storybook Land, and Casey’s Train, and all the Dark Rides (Alice, Peter Pan, Snow White, Mr. Toad), take a ‘quick’ ride on It’s a Small World, run back to Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mt. … (whew! that’s a lot of running)… hop the train for a trip around the park (with a Dole Whip float to sip on), and slip in to Innoventions where nobody will find me 😉

It would be easier to pick a favorite star in the sky than to pick my favorite ride at Disneyland. My ‘favorites’ keep changing, like the park. That said, if I could only go on one ride for the day, I would probably choose Pirates of the Caribbean…

Last November, Our school marching band traveled to the parks to march in the main street parade. We were able to travel backstage and observe most of the fantasyland and toontown facades from the back. After the parade, we traveled backstage through tomorrowland, observing the back of space mountain and Innoventions. We walked along the infamous berm road, past the monorail maintenance building and the apparatus that launches the fireworks every night. As far as my favorite ride, It would have to be Tower of Terror. As one of, if not the most intricately themed rides in the resort, the Hollywood Tower Hotel provides an immersive experience that most other rides cannot provide.

I went to Disneyland when I was about 4 years old, and my favorite ride was, in typical 4 year old fashion, Dumbo. In preschool, we played “Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar?” and my teacher told me that the Cookie Jar really liked riding on Dumbo (and like the 4 year old I was, I believed her.) So I was thrilled when my mom later told me that she saw the Cookie Jar on one of the Dumbo cars. I found out later that she was lying, but at the time it made Dumbo my favorite ride ever!
