During the Winter Chill-Out today, Cedar Point announced quite a few changes that will be happening this year along with Rougarou and the Hotel Breakers renovation.
The biggest changes will be around the former Good Time Theatre area. Dodgem is being moved to the other side of the park, where Sir Rub-A-Dub’s Tubs and Kiddie Kartz used to be right next to maXair. The Tubs are being removed, while Kiddie Kartz are moving to Planet Snoopy and are being renamed to Joe Cool’s Dodgem School. Calypso will be moved as well to the same area, right across from Three-Point Challenge in Wicked Twister’s courtyard. The ride will go through a theme update and renamed to Tiki Twirl. Turnpike Cars will be removed and will not be seeing a relocation. Cadillac Cars will be staying as of this year.

The approximate locations of where the relocated rides are going to be.
There were some surprises as well. Maverick will be receiving brand new, softer restraints this year, more than likely similar to the restraints Intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion has.
One of the other surprises was the revealing of the first cars for Rougarou. The trains will utilize the older B&M restraint style, but should still provide a superior ride than Mantis.

Other announcements include a new sweet shop being installed in between Snoopy Boutique and Pagoda Gift Shop, and the Beach Blast night show will be expanded to include a meal option. In total, 600 coaster enthusiasts raised $27,000 for Give Kids the World to attend the Winter Chill-Out. There was also a quick tease during one of the presentations where a shot of Outlaw Run was shown for a split second, but people really shouldn’t read too much into that as Cedar Point PR team has a tendency to pull those kind of tricks.
With a rather large clearing now around the Good Time Theatre area, this pretty much solidifies that the rumor of the B&M Dive Coaster could indeed come true for 2016. Share us your thoughts about these new additions for 2015!
I’m anxious to see how the new restraints are. I’m sure they will make the ride experience so much better. Here’s to an awesome 2015 and to some good rumors/announcements for 2016!
The I305 restraints are far superior to Maverick’s. Why it took them this long I have no idea.
And RMC makeover of Mean Streak would be a nice bonus.
When we were in the presentation someone asked what they were doing with the old Good Time Theater site and they said that they are going to build a new venue
Thanks for the update. I’m excited for the new Maverick restraints. I didn’t find that ride reridable and now maybe I will. Hmmm the Outlaw Run teaser is interesting for sure. Maybe the Dive Coaster isn’t at all a lock?
Argh, they really don’t need another mega steel coaster, hope they’re getting a Triotech dark ride along with some other things.
I agree with Cedar Point receiving Triotech dark ride, and new coaster waiting. If Cedar Point is to receive a new coaster, I would prefer either B&M flying coaster, inverting wood coaster (by RMC or Gravity Group), vertical-lift coaster (Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter or an Impulse inspired coaster), or family-friendly spinning coaster, instead of the rumored B&M dive coaster. Dive coaster would be like a wing coaster and floor-less coaster combined.
