5 Disney World Snacks You Must Try and One You Should Avoid

Take a scroll down the Disney side of social media and you will be bombarded with reel after reel of ‘grammable Walt Disney World snacks and sweet treats. You’ll find people saying their discovery is the next big thing or a big miss. Either way, it doesn’t take much to realize there are an overwhelming amount of choices.

We recently tried over 20 different snacks across the Walt Disney World resort and here are our top five that you should try. There’s also one we’d recommend you pass up…and it might surprise you!

Our Top 5 Walt Disney World Snacks

#5 – Warm Cinnamon Roll

Location: Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom

Price: $5.79

With a menu name like Warm Cinnamon Roll, it better be fresh, hot, and delicious right? These sure are! And I am not exaggerating when I say these are massive! I’m pretty sure this cinnamon roll was the size of my four-year-old’s head.

That being said, these make for the perfect breakfast or sharable mid-morning pick me up. We grabbed two of these during our week at the resort and both times they were wonderful. They go fast too! While we were in line to order, cast members could be seen carrying out huge trays of hot rolls to be served.

#4 – Mango-Coconut Milk Shake

Location: Connections Eatery at EPCOT

Price: $7.49

This a relatively new menu item at the Connections Eatery in EPCOT. My oldest son has a mango obsession right now, so this was on our must-try list during our visit. It instantly was a favorite for the whole family!

It wasn’t too thick or too thin, had a great fresh mango flavor, and came with a pomegranate-molasses drizzle on top that provided a perfect bitter-tart touch to the sweet drink.

*Tip: bring a pack of reusable boba straws with you when you visit because the compostable paper straws provided get mushy in about 30 seconds. The boba straws are great for both thick drinks like this and any other beverage you get.

#3 – Mickey Werther’s Caramel Chocolate Cookie Sandwich

Location: Karamell-Kuche at EPCOT

Price: $7.79

I was impressed with the quality of most of the Walt Disney World snacks we tried and this one was no exception. It was larger than I was thinking it would be and the cookies were buttery soft. The chocolate cookies surround a thick layer of gooey Werther’s caramel and an even thicker layer of sweet buttercream! This location has several other sandwich cookies to choose from and a wide array of caramel-infused bites.

#2 – Beignets

Location: Scat Cat Club – Café at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

Price: $7.79 (for 3), $11.29 (for 6)

If you are not staying at the Port Orleans resort this one can be a bit out of the way to get to, but believe me it’s worth the trek! Just take bus from the park over here midday and have a hot, soft beignet in the nice A/C!

These pastries are made to order, are served piping hot, and come with your choice of dipping sauce. You can choose from a salted caramel, strawberry coulis, or a chocolate ganache. They also will make you gluten free beignets that were just as delicious!

#1 – Dig Ice Cream Sandwich

Location: Dino-Bite Snacks at Animal Kingdom

Price: $8.29

It could just be my enormous love of ice cream, but this giant ice cream sandwich really took me by surprise. Another snack that came out way larger than expected and way more tasty than I thought it would be.

This sandwich consists of two soft sugar cookies with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream inside and then is topped with chocolates, candy bones, and a white chocolate stegosaurus. Everything about this dessert was on point. The cookies were chewy and had that classic sugar cookie flavor, the ice cream came out not melty at all, and most importantly, it stayed together when you ate it!

It’s best to share this because in the Florida heat it doesn’t last long! So eat up quick!

Honorable mention #1 –  Blue Milk

Location: Milk Stand at Hollywood Studios

Price: $8.99

This refreshing drink was on my personal list to try, namely because of the atmosphere you got to enjoy it in and it’s appearance in the classic films. It has a fruity flavor and is very refreshing. It’s consistency is like a slushy but with slightly larger ice pellets.

My family preferred this blue milk here to the green milk, which has a more citrusy flavor. This did not make the top five list because of it’s price. $8.99 is very steep for the small 8 ounce portion you receive. If we hadn’t had the Disney Dining Plan, we probably would not have tried it.

Honorable mention #2 – Cold Brew Float

Location: Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies at Magic Kingdom

Price: $6.79

As I mentioned before, I’m a major ice cream guy. I’m also a cold brew guy. So I had to give this drink a try! It is simply Joffrey’s cold brew (the coffee brand found across the Disney parks) that then has a generous amount of soft serve put in.

We had ordered a float to be made with chocolate soft serve, but when we arrived it had been made with vanilla. They happily remade our float and then gave us the vanilla one as well! Both were some of the best flavored soft serve I’ve ever had and after you eat down some of the ice cream you are left with a perfectly creamed cold brew–two snacks in one!

Avoid – Mickey Shaped Pretzel

Location: Various locations around Walt Disney World

Price: $6.79

We chowed down on over 20 different Walt Disney World snacks during our recent trip. I was overall very impressed with everything we tried–with this list being the best of the best. But, there was one, a classic Disney staple, that left me quite disappointed. The Mickey Pretzel.

While these are quite picture worthy and are fun to get, especially for the kids, it just did not hit the mark. It honestly might have been one of the worst soft pretzels I’ve ever had. It was hot, it was fresh, and the cheese sauce was quite good, but the pretzel itself lacked any classic pretzel flavor. Bummer.

Next time you want to get that perfect Instagram photo with that classic Mickey shaped pretzel, maybe rethink your $7.79 into a nice Mickey shaped cookie from Karamell-Kuche.

Do any of these Walt Disney World snacks make your list? What are your other favorite Disney World snacks?
