SeaWorld Orlando Aerials From a Drone

I recently visited SeaWorld Orlando for the first time in 15 years. Since my last visit, the park has added four coasters — Mako, Ice Breaker, Pipeline and Penguin Trek. I woke up early on the first of my two-day visit to fly my drone to get a different view of the theme park. See the SeaWorld Orlando aerials below.

Disclaimer: I am an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate-holding drone pilot following FAA’s Small UAS Rule (Part 107) and did not fly the drone over SeaWorld Orlando  property.

Mako and Kraken’s layouts nearly completely encircle the pond to the east of the park.

At this point, I had not yet visited the park, so seeing Mako up close made me even more excited to ride the 2016 Bolliger & Mabillard hyper coaster.

Kraken debuted a new green/dark blue paint scheme in 2022. I prefer the original teal/yellow color, but this new color scheme works as well.

Manta was also recently repainted, although it retained its original color scheme.

The Sky Tower was closed both days I visited, so the drone was the only way I was going to get a view of the park from this height.

Five of eight SeaWorld Orlando coasters are B&Ms. Seen in the shot above are, from foreground to background, Penguin Trek (2024), Manta (2010) and Pipeline (2023). Pipeline was the surprise hit of the trip — I hope we see more stand-up surf coasters from B&M soon.

All five of the park’s B&M coasters can be seen in this frame.

Kraken’s lift hill provides a great view of the Orlando skyline, especially for those seated on the rightmost seat of each row.

Journey to Atlantis was closed for maintenance during my visit, although it would have been a bit too chilly to ride (for me, at least).

Mako’s lift hill, however, points away from the park and skyline.

Seen in the distance on the left is the Orca Encounter stadium. I wasn’t able to see the show during my visit, but it’s a priority for next time.

As the park had not yet opened, Kraken was testing with empty trains.

Panning to the northeast, I had a clear view of the soon-to-open Universal Epic Universe theme park and its resort hotels, including Stella Nova (which we recently reviewed).

I also had an excellent view of the neighboring Aquatica water park.

Mako is such a picturesque coaster. I’m glad I was able to see it from this angle as much of it is out of sight if you’re in the park — aside from the finale over the lake, of course.

This angle illustrates the height difference in height between SeaWorld’s “Big Three.” I never realized until seeing this (and referencing RCDB) that Kraken is only taller than Manta by 9 feet.
